The TRIBE is the Coachella Valley's first doula network. Our doulas are trained and experienced, and are commited to providing you care and support in your prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum periods. Joanna works as a lactation consultant, professional birth and postpartum doula, and childbirth educator.  She is the director of “For Moms and Babies” as well as the Fall Family Festival.  In 2011 Joanna founded the non-profit About Families, Inc. and currently is the director of the organization. She is the local coordinator for PSI (Postpartum Support International) and is working on the film After Birth Project. In 2012 Joanna will join the faculty of CAPPA and begin to train doulas. 
Most importantly, Joanna is a dedicated wife and mother to 4 guys who she is over the moon in love with!

Emily is a DONA trained Doula, childbirth educator (Informed Childbirth) and a Placenta Lady. In July of 2011, she will graduate from the Grow Our Own Lactaction Consultants Training. She is a newlywed, and mom to four four-legged pets.

Danielle Brattrud is a trained doula by DONA (Doula Organization of North America) and a trained childbirth instructor by Lamaze International. She is a wife and a mother of two kids. She is an advocate of natural birth and has been helping women on their labor day since 2010. She is also the director of Refuge Pregnancy Center, where women in crisis pregnancy situations can get free pregnancy tests and counseling. Her passion is to help women have the best childbirth experience.

Sara is a DONA trained Doula, childbirth educator (Informed Childbirth), a wife and a mom to three beautiful kids - with one on the way any minute! In July of 2011, she will graduate from the Grow Our Own Lactaction Consultants Training.

Christy became an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2006 after she had acquired over 5,000 breastfeeding counseling hours with postpartum moms.  As Christy continued assisting moms, they conveyed to her that their birth experiences were disappointing or unfulfilling.  On a mission to advocate for women and to protect their birth experiences, Christy pursued her Doula certification through DONA.  

Christy continues her work supporting and educating others about breastfeeding through the Grow Our Own IBCLC curriculum she developed.  It has been used to educate over 400 professionals throughout California.  She currently teaches lactation, attends births, facilitates lactation clinics, and advocates for women in southern California, where she lives with her husband and three children.
